Pastor Kilby

Meet the Pastor

Dr. Roy L. Kilby began his pastorate at Bethel Baptist Church in 1979. He and his wife, Wanda, have been married over 45 years. They have three children, all boys, two of whom are in full-time Christian ministry. The third son helps in the TV and radio ministry at Bethel Baptist. They are blessed to have nine grandchildren whom they love dearly.

What I believe:

I believe the bible to be the Word of God. I believe that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God and is profitable for us; that God exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; that Jesus the Son of God was born of the virgin Mary; that He lived His life in total obedience to His Father; that He was crucified and buried and on the third day arose from the dead. I believe that He also ascended back to heaven there to intercede for us, and that soon He is coming back again. Meanwhile we too are to be living in obedience to the Word of God, sharing our faith and telling others so they can believe and be saved.

Scripture that has had the most impact on me:

I take all the scriptures seriously. They are to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Galatians 6:9 has often spoken to me: "and let us not be weary in well doing for in due season ye shall reap if ye faint not." I also love this promise found in Matthew 6:33: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

My vision for this church:

My vision for the ministry is to instruct believers in the truth of God's Word so they can grow in the Lord, discover their gifts, and be active in the ministry of our Lord resulting in the spreading of the Gospel that others may be saved. In this, God will receive Glory.
