BETHEL WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Vision Statement: To encourage fellowship, friendship and a closer walk with God among our women.
Women’s Night Out is the second Tuesday of each month from 6-8 PM. We start out at 6:00 with a meal then go to a time of singing, skits, Bible study and enjoying each other.
Here are some activities we sponsor throughout the year:
September
Annual Women’s Conference on the 2nd Saturday of September. This day begins at 9 AM and ends at 2 PM. We invite all the ladies in our church and any others who would like to attend. We have a light breakfast, lunch, skits, singing and a special speaker for the day. This year the date had to be changed to Saturday, September 27 and Janice Drum will be our guest speaker.
Operation Christmas Child We begin promotion of this mission project in September even though the shoeboxes are not turned in until the first of November. Our goal for 2008 is 250 shoe boxes
October
World Hunger Sunday – We sponsor this and encourage participation by all church members. Everyone is asked to bring a grocery bag of groceries on this Sunday to help stock the food pantries at Haywood Christian Ministries and the Baptist Food Pantry in Clyde.
November
Festival of Holidays This is a catered dinner for any adult in the church who would like to sign up and attend. Tables are decorated and filled by table hostesses and it is a beautiful and entertaining night.
Senior Saint’s Thanksgiving Luncheon – We cook and serve our Senior Saint’s a Thanksgiving meal on the Thursday before the week of Thanksgiving. Many choose to come and fellowship and eat at the church, and for those who can’t get out to attend, meals are taken to their homes.
Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are turned in the first of November. Last year we took a group to Charlotte to work in the Operation Christmas Child warehouse.
February
Date your Mate Night - A special night set aside to honor marriage with a meal and entertainment.
May
Mother’s Day Tea – A time for the women and girls of the church to be honored in a way we don’t do very often
July
Camp New Life The ladies help serve refreshments twice a day during a week of camp for the children attending this summer camp sponsored by the Baptist Association.
We also sponsor a couple of different “Get-a-ways” for the women during the year. Some examples are “Women of Faith Conferences”, “Hot Springs Retreat with Mary Johnson”, “Beth Moore Seminar” and other opportunities as they arise.
